Xannova Xan on Ethnikós Telikós: ‘I Am Here to Stay!’

The Greek national final may not have ended with a ticket to Eurovision for Xannova Xan, but it certainly marked a new chapter in her musical journey. With overwhelming fan support, a powerful performance, and a strong message of perseverance, Xannova is ready to take on the future. In this exclusive interview, she opens up about her experience, her aspirations for Eurovision, and the exciting projects she has in store—including her upcoming EP and the release of her new single, A L I E N!

Your performance in the Greek national final was widely praised. How did you feel when you saw all the positive reactions?

It makes me truly so happy to know that the performance and our song was so well received. I am so grateful for all of the new fans that I have gained through this process, and who support me so loudly and proudly. I have received countless messages from people who loved it and it is very gratifying as an artist to have that sort of reaction regardless of the result. So thank you everyone for your support! I love you. 💖

Many fans believe you should have won and represented Greece in Eurovision 2025. Were you disappointed with the result?

I would have loved to represent Greece in Eurovision 2025 and I think our song "Play It!" could have brought an amazing result for my country, but I believe everything happens for a reason and this is only motivating me and the rest of my team to come back stronger and make it happen next year! I am hoping it will be with the same writing team as this year's song, as it was very strong.

Some fans recognized you from Junior Eurovision. How has your musical journey evolved since then?

I love that Eurovision fans remember me from Eurovision Junior. It makes my heart so happy, and I am so grateful to have been welcomed back into the Eurovision family with open arms.

Since performing in Eurovision junior my musical journey has taken me to high highs and low lows, as is the journey of the artist. In 2020 I was close to a major label record deal in Los Angeles, CA. I had been working with major producers and songwriters who have worked with massive  artists like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Madonna but when the pandemic hit, the deal fell through. I got very disappointed and depressed and nearly gave up on music altogether. Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise but at the time it was very hard to see it that way. It was only the love of my family, and my 3 biggest fans my mom, my husband and my brother that kept me believing in myself, to not give up on my dream. Everyone needs that support system and I'm so grateful that they were also right there with me through this Eurovision experience. More important than anything, is time with loved ones. I know that one hundred percent, time is precious. I am so grateful to have these amazing people in my life and to be able to create memories to last a lifetime together.

Coming back to the music; as an independent artist, since then I have released songs that have gained over 1 million streams on Spotify. Not giving up and working hard over these past few years, has led to me working once again with big names in Los Angeles. No path to success is instant and mine has been a long and winding journey but I am grateful for every single moment, it makes me even more grateful for the success.

Now that the competition is over, what’s next for you musically? Will we see an album or more singles soon?

We are releasing "Play It!" worldwide for fans to enjoy. It is already out on Apple Music, Tidal, and YouTube music and in the next 24 hours it will be on Spotify as well.

Throughout this year, I will also be releasing my debut EP which will consist of 5 songs that I have co-written and recorded in Hollywood, CA. The EP is in collaboration with Jeff Blue who discovered and developed the mega band Linkin park, and is produced by Grammy nominated and platinum record selling producer Jacob Bunton.

The first single I will be releasing from this EP is A L I E N ! This song is an anthem about not only embracing but being loud and proud of being your unique, different and beautiful self! It will be released later this month, and the music video as well as other songs will follow shortly thereafter. Stay tuned on my social media platforms Xannova Xan on instagram, Facebook and tiktok for all of my music updates.

Would you be open to trying again for Eurovision in the future, either for Greece or another country?

As a proud Greek American it is my goal to represent Greece one day in the Eurovision Song contest and I am not giving up on that dream. If anything, this experience has made me want it even more, and I am so grateful for all of the messages I have received from Greek people who tell me that they want me to try again and want me represent them one day. I believe it will happen when it is meant to. Either way, I am already planning with my amazing team to write another spectacular song to not only represent Greece but to bring Greece the win that it deserves.

What message do you have for the fans who supported you and hope to see you at Eurovision one day?

I am so grateful for you all and I do not want you be sad for this year's result. You will be able to play "Play it!" on repeat on Spotify very soon and more music is coming shortly after. With your continued support I will be able to represent Greece one day. Both Klavdia and Evangelia have tried multiple times to get the results they have, and I am happy to say that I am here to stay as well. I will compete and submit the best songs that I can create, until it happens. I love Eurovision, I love being a part of the Eurovision family and I thank you all so much for your love and support. Congratulations to Klavdia for her win, I wish her the best of luck and hope Greece will do amazing this year in Eurovision. 🇬🇷 Love & light Xannova Xan.

For all the fans who supported her through the Greek national final, you can now stream Play It! worldwide and keep the energy alive. Stay tuned for more music, and who knows—maybe next time, we’ll see Xannova Xan on the Eurovision stage!
