Harem Girls Perform at Belgrade Pride Week

Serbian drag collective Harem Girls took the stage during Belgrade Pride Week 2026, together with drag performers from across the Balkans for a special show celebrating queer culture and visibility.

Harem Girls presented “Balkan Drag United” on September 2 at Pride House (KC Grad), as part of the official Belgrade Pride Week programme.

The special show featured performers from several countries across the region, including Titta Foureira, Lefkada Tsunami, Lady Siren, Lola Love, Nina Lee from Serbia, Edelvice from Bulgaria, Daria Buffy from North Macedonia, Pinta Dera from Türkiye, Mirna Mystique from Montenegro and Nikotina from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lefkada Tsunami hosted the evening, while MilicX served as DJ, providing Balkan inspired beats throughout the event.

Belgrade Pride Week Takes Place from August 31 to September 6

Belgrade Pride Week 2026 took place from August 31 to September 6, with a programme featuring exhibitions, panel discussions, lectures, film screenings, artistic performances, parties and other cultural events. The main Pride March was scheduled for September 5.

The week brought together members and allies of Serbia’s LGBTQ+ community, with the Pride March serving as the central protest and visibility event.

Why Is Belgrade Pride Important?

Belgrade Pride is one of Serbia’s most significant LGBTQ+ rights events. Beyond its celebratory aspect, the Pride March is an important act of visibility and protest, highlighting continued concerns over discrimination, violence and the lack of full legal recognition for LGBTQ+ people in Serbia.

The significance of the event is also rooted in its history. 2026 marks 25 years since the first Belgrade Pride in 2001, which was met with severe violence. A recent report by Balkan Insight looks back at that history and the activists who have continued the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Serbia.

Harem Girls at Pesma za Evroviziju

The group has competed twice in Pesma za Evroviziju, Serbia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. They achieved second place in 2025 and followed it with another strong result, finishing third in the 2026 edition.
