Petition Calls for Jelena Karleuša to Represent Serbia at Eurovision 2027

A new online petition in Serbia is calling on RTS to select pop star Jelena Karleuša as the country’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.

The petition, launched on 22 September, asks Serbia’s public broadcaster RTS to officially consider and support Karleuša for the Eurovision stage in Bulgaria.

According to the petition, Karleuša’s fans believe that her experience, ability to deliver a performance with a strong visual identity and recognisable public profile could bring the attention to Serbia at Eurovision.

More than 20,000 signatures

The campaign has gained significant attention online. The Peticije.online page currently displays more than 20,000 signatures, with a target of 25,000.

The organiser previously announced that once the petition reaches 10,000 signatures, the signatures would be submitted to RTS. In an update dated 23 September, Petković said the organisers wanted to complete the process by the end of September.

Who Is Jelena Karleuša?

Jelena Karleuša is one of Serbia’s most recognisable pop stars and media personalities. Born in Belgrade in 1978, she began her music career in the 1990s and has released numerous pop and dance hits throughout her career.

Karleuša has actually previously competed in Serbia’s Eurovision selection process. In 2004, she took part in Beovizija with the song “Moli me”, hoping to represent Serbia and Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Known for her fashion, creative performances and real public persona, Karleuša has been a big idol in Serbian popular culture for decades. She has also built a large following on social media, where she regularly shares music, fashion and entertainment content.

One of her biggest YouTube successes is “O.S.T.A.V.L.J.A.M.T.E”, her collaboration with Bulgarian mega star Azis. The 2017 performance has amassed around 42 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most viewed videos connected to Karleuša's music career.

Sign the Petition to Bring Hungary Back to Eurovision

A new petition in Hungary is calling for the country to return to the Eurovision Song Contest , more than seven years after its last participation. The petition, published on the Hungarian civic platform SzabadaHang , is addressed to Zoltán Tarr, Minister for Social Relations and Culture , as well as other decision-makers.
