Stage and Theme Art Revealed for Junior Eurovision 2026

The first look at Junior Eurovision 2026 has arrived, with Malta unveiling the theme and stage design for this year’s contest.

The 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. Ahead of the contest, host broadcaster PBS has revealed the visual concept for the show, inspired by one of Malta’s most recognisable traditions: the village festa.

“Join the Festa”

Under the slogan “Join the Festa,” Junior Eurovision 2026 will bring the colourful atmosphere of Malta’s traditional village celebrations to the international stage.

The concept draws inspiration from the flags, decorations, brass bands, traditional instruments, processions, lights, confetti and fireworks associated with the Maltese festa. According to the organisers, the production will reinterpret these elements through the staging, lighting and overall visual identity of the show.

The festa is a major part of Maltese cultural life, bringing together families and communities across generations. For Junior Eurovision, this tradition will form the heart of the show's visual storytelling.

Malta’s streets brought to the stage

PBS has also revealed the official stage design for the contest.

The central performance area is surrounded by architectural elements inspired by Maltese streetscapes, including colourful façades and traditional balconies. These elements will be incorporated into the stage architecture, lighting and scenic design.

While the stage will prominently showcase Malta’s identity, the design has also been created to allow each of the participating artists to develop their own visual world during their performances.

16 countries will compete

A total of 16 countries will take part in Junior Eurovision 2026:

🇸🇲 San Marino
🇪🇸 Spain
🇺🇦 Ukraine

The participating performers will be aged between 9 and 14, with several of the artists already confirmed and introduced to fans.

Among the confirmed artists are Alec for France, Davit Lomidze for Georgia, Ana Stojanoska for North Macedonia, Salvador Rio for Portugal, Harry Georgiou for Cyprus, and Lucas Paulano for Spain.

Junior Eurovision returns to Malta

Malta is hosting Junior Eurovision for the third time, following previous editions in 2014 and 2016. The island has also enjoyed two victories in the competition, with Gaia Cauchi winning in 2013 and Destiny taking the trophy in 2015.

Junior Eurovision 2026 will take place on 24 October at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali, where the venue will be transformed into a Eurovision-inspired Festa Village for the young performers and their international audience.
