Want to Be in a Eurovision Movie? SF Studios Is Looking for Casting in the New Bobbysocks Film

SF Studios is looking for actors with authentic 1980s looks for La det swinge, an upcoming film about Norwegian Eurovision winners Bobbysocks.

The new Norwegian-Swedish production, directed by Per-Olav Sørensen, will take audiences back to the Eurovision era of the 1980s and the story surrounding Bobbysocks’ historic victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 in Gothenburg.

To recreate the period authentically, the production is now looking for actors who naturally fit the 1980s aesthetic.

For male actors, the casting team is looking for looks including long hair, moustaches, natural-looking beards and mullet or comb-over hairstyles.

Female actors with curly or permed hair, bangs, short hair, updos, pageboy hairstyles and preferably bleached highlights are also wanted.

The production is specifically avoiding modern appearances such as tattoos, fillers, hair extensions, unnatural hair colours and modern fade or machine-cut hairstyles. Men with short hair and women with long hair may be asked to change their hairstyles to fit the period.

Applicants who already have authentic 1980s clothing are particularly encouraged to apply.

Filming will take place in Västra Götaland, including Gothenburg, during October, with production scheduled across weeks 42–44.

The casting notice also encourages people to apply together with friends, partners, family members or neighbours.
